Updated: Aug 15, 2023

St. Benedict's Episcopal School is pleased to announce Tameko Goodwin as its new Athletics Director. Before this new appointment, during the 7 years she's been employed at St. Benedict's, Tameko served as a K-8 Physical Education Teacher, 5th-8th Grade Cross Country Head Coach, and the Track and Field Long Distance Coach. In addition to overseeing the achievements of individual athletes, Tameko has proven her dedication and commitment by leading our school's Cross Country team to remarkable accomplishments during her tenure. Under her guidance in 2022, the team secured an impressive 3rd-place victory in the highly competitive Strong Rock Patriot Cross Country MS Invitational held at Strong Rock Christian. Her exceptional leadership and strategic approach have undoubtedly contributed to the team's success, further showcasing her ability to motivate and develop young athletes to reach their full potential.

"I embrace the opportunity to be an integral part of building this athletic program," said St. Benedict's Athletics Director, Tameko Goodwin. "By partnering with the administration, staff, and leadership of St. Benedict's, together we will increase the visibility of our brand and culture in our community. As I transition into my new role, I am most excited about seeing our middle school student-athletes in a new light. I am eager to help them in their journey of learning and growth while continuing to develop their athletic abilities."

Tameko brings a wealth of knowledge to the athletic program, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education with a focus on Recreation from Morgan State University and a Master of Education in Physical Education from Ohio State University.

"Tameko is an excellent choice as St. Benedict's Episcopal School's new athletic director," said St. Benedict’s Head of School Father Brian Sullivan. "Besides helping to lead the first Cross-Country team, which has won several state-wide individual awards, she started our school's first track and field team. The children love her for her enthusiasm for all things related to physical education and her bottomless source of positivity."

St. Benedict's Episcopal School is dedicated to developing preschool through middle school students through academics, leadership, faith, and athletics. As a close-knit and diverse community of coaches, student-athletes, and young scholars, we strive to produce a superior athletic program that transitions into lessons that can be used in and outside the classroom.
