We are excited to announce that St. Benedict’s middle school students Ava H. (7th Grade) and Emily B. (8th Grade) have been selected for the 2025 Capitol Art Exhibition (CAE), Georgia’s largest state-wide student art exhibition. Their artwork was accepted on Thursday, February 20, 2025, and will be on display at the Georgia State Capitol until Saturday, March 15, 2025.
The Capitol Art Exhibition celebrates the creativity and talent of young artists from across the state, and we are thrilled to see Ava and Emily’s work recognized at this prestigious event. Organized by the Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA) in honor of National Youth Art Month, the exhibition showcases exceptional student artwork from Pre-K through college.

We are also proud to recognize Sydney C. (8th Grade), who has been accepted into a prestigious exhibition hosted by the National Art Education Association (NAEA). Sydney is one of only 48 students nationwide selected for this honor, highlighting her exceptional talent on a national stage!
A special thank you to Maria Coles, our first-year art teacher, whose passion and guidance continue to inspire and support our students in their artistic endeavors.
Congratulations to our students on this well-deserved recognition. We are incredibly proud of you!
Fine Arts at St. Benedict’s
At St. Benedict’s, fine arts are an essential part of the student experience. From 5th to 8th grade, students engage in a comprehensive and integrated fine arts program that fosters creativity, cultural appreciation, and personal expression. We believe the arts provide invaluable benefits beyond the classroom, including enhanced self-esteem, motivation, emotional expression, and social connection. In 5th grade, students choose to explore Band, Drama, or Art & Design. As they progress to 6th-8th grade, they can continue with Band or Design Studio and participate in fine arts-focused clubs during the school day.
